At present, there are more than ten medical device companies engaged in the production of dental implants in China, but some of the core technologies are handed over to foreign production, or directly purchase foreign sets of production lines, and have not yet achieved real localization.

In the face of foreign technology blockade, 7 years ago, Zhejiang Stomatological Hospital joined hands with Zhejiang Guangci Medical Devices Co., Ltd. to independently develop a model called “ZDI Artificial Dental Implant”, adopting a model of cooperation between hospitals and enterprises, and combining Shanghai and Zhejiang. In the other four hospitals, 103 cases were clinically tested, and the success rate reached 100% in one year after loading.

Five years ago, Xu Zhongmian, the general manager of Zhejiang Guangci Medical Devices Co., Ltd., became the first batch of clinical experimenters. He installed a dental implant produced by his company in the mouth and can still use it.

"After repeated experiments, we have overcome the key technology of surface treatment of dental implants, and this achievement has also won the second prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress." Wang Huiming, dean of Zhejiang Provincial Stomatological Hospital said.
