In an accidental opportunity in the second half of 2009, we wanted to connect the mobile phone and the sphygmomanometer to become a health management tool. We set up a research and development team and made such a sample, which was completed in April 2010. After I finished, I personally took the prototype and tried it. I felt that this was a change to this traditional industry, a new change. So we immediately contacted Apple and exchanged ideas with Apple. I didn't expect Apple to be more happy and excited than we were when we heard about this. The MFI department had a conference call with us, from the definition of the product, the exploration of the business model, the possibility of the future, and the "fudge" we said. This thing is sure to enter the Apple Store.

When I saw Steve Jobs’s history in my youth, I never imagined that I would have any contact with Steve Jobs’s startup company. Suddenly, I was close at hand. We quickly went to Apple. After going to Apple, the head of the MFI department at the time saw our first sentence. "We bought this product and we gave it to Jobs." We said that you gave it to Jobs. At that time, our transformation of this industry was actually in a state of ignorance. It was discovered by communication with Apple that this is a huge opportunity - that is to say, all the traditional products and the mobile phone network have created new value for users. This value may be physical or spiritual. If this value can be easily felt by the user, will the user pay for it? That industry is likely to change or even be subverted, and we are fortunate to see such a change. We were ignorant at the beginning, and by the second half of 2010 we became very clear and understand. At that time, the company was listed on the market, we recruited hundreds of millions of funds, and let us have the strength and ability to achieve such a dream.

We quickly felt that this was a great opportunity for us to overtake the corner. We have been competing with the Japanese for a long time, but it is very difficult to compete in the traditional field because it has a strong accumulation, it has a strong global channel, it has a strong product line, and it has a strong Technology accumulation. Only the differentiation of such products, the birth of a new way can achieve the possibility of overtaking the corner. In the past, we have posted stickers to others for many years, and we have been deeply affected by the OEM. We feel that this is a new brand, and it is possible to do business with a new business model, so we will vigorously transform into this direction.

From "0" to "1"

In fact, in the process of transformation, we are soberly aware of and recognize what we are going to do. In fact, there is no real effective and good way to manage the health outside the hospital in traditional medical care. . What we see is that the control rate of hypertension is only 9.3, the control rate of diabetes is only 9.7, there are a lot of high blood pressure, and the patients with diabetes are not controlled. Why, what is the reason. In fact, we can see that in the traditional medical mode, the medical treatment mode is actually an acute disease treatment mode. This patient went to the hospital to see a doctor. It is a headache, a fever, and a stomachache will soon be treated for you. However, the chronic disease is not a threat to the human body right away, it may be a complication that occurs many years later. The way in which chronic diseases are solved and managed may not have been possible under traditional medical methods. Traditional medical methods have no way to solve the problem of medical treatment outside the hospital. We want the emergence of mobile Internet, the combination of traditional intelligent hardware and human data, is it possible? Then we want to start such an exploration.

In the beginning, we first connected the hardware to a data measurement and collection tool. This is the simplest and most important idea. We connect our blood pressure to the Internet and connect our blood sugar to the Internet. With the speed of two or three models per year, there are several categories, blood pressure, blood sugar, blood oxygen, weight, exercise and ECG, all of which can be connected via hardware. After connecting to the Internet, we will have an APP. What kind of new value can the APP generate for users? It may be knowledge, it may be records, it may be storage, it may be interaction or it may be a community, so you need to explore, define, and see if there is such a possibility. If there is such a possibility to explore, Can it be produced at the same time in a new way, the health management of an out-of-hospital system under the new mode, and whether a chronic disease service can be formed. In other words, can you explore new business models for existing high blood pressure, diabetes, or other out-of-hospital medical services. Of course, this kind of exploration itself is relatively slow. The patients with high blood pressure and diabetes are older. In these ways, it may take a time course. In the process of practice, we have seen it, at least until now. We still see it, and we are still in the process of exploring.

iHealth's brand road

In 2011 we first set up a company in Silicon Valley. Fortunately, we got the iHealth trademark. Many people say, but how can you get this trademark? Even Apple people feel that it is incredible to get this trademark, which is worth at least $80 million. At that time, it was actually a coincidence that the trademark could be applied in accordance with US law. However, in order to obtain the trademark registration certificate, a certificate of use must be provided. There is no way to approve the certificate without a certificate of use. There is a 36-month grace period. Two companies that applied for the iHealth trademark failed. Perhaps the Americans are also more honest, and did not put the product on the iHealth standard to provide such proof of use. Let us have such an opportunity to apply for such a trademark.

However, when we applied again, the US Trademark Office actually did not recognize it. This trademark name is a common name. You cannot apply for a generic name called iHeatlh as a brand. Then we provided proof of the use of the medical team. We have sales in the mainstream channels in the United States, sales in places such as Apple stores, and there are a lot of reports in the media. The New York Times reported four times a year, eventually They agreed to give us this trademark.
