September 15, 2014 – Medtronic today announced the launch of the SEEQTM Mobile Heart Remote Monitoring System (MCT) in the US market. This heart-tight, in vitro wireless cardiac monitoring device can be worn for up to 30 days to help identify and Diagnose the cause of the patient's irregular heartbeat. Medtronic completed its acquisition of Corventis in June this year, and the US company developed the technology.
The MCT system allows us to collect vital arrhythmia records that help to develop a treatment plan without the patient's troubles," Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Director, Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY Physiologist Ethan P. Levine said: "It is very painful for patients to wear bulky monitoring equipment for several days. Given the unobtrusive nature of the device and its ease of use, patients are more likely to wear it continuously, allowing doctors to continuously access more comprehensive monitoring data to help more accurately diagnose and develop timely treatment options. . â€
Once the SEEQ MCT system comes into contact with the skin, it will automatically initiate monitoring. The system includes a wearable sensor that can be continuously monitored for up to 30 days. Because the wireless sensor is thin (15 mm or 0.6 inches thick) and has no wires, it can be carefully adhered to the underside of the garment and is also waterproof so that it can be continuously monitored while the patient is exercising, bathing or sleeping.
The SEEQ MCT system remotely monitors each heartbeat and automatically transmits important heart rhythm data back to the Medtronic Monitoring Center (operated by Medtronic Monitoring). The center's staff are certified ECG technicians who provide continuous, round-the-clock heart rate monitoring. On the one hand, the SEEQ MCT system can automatically capture and transmit heart rhythm data. On the other hand, if the patient has symptomatic performance, the trigger button can also be pressed to inform the monitoring center. Either way, data can be transmitted to the monitoring center via Bluetooth and cellular connections, and the monitoring center provides reports for review and analysis by the prescriber.
The SEEQ MCT system is intended for patients with symptoms that may be associated with irregular heartbeat, such as syncope, dizziness, dizziness, palpitations, or shortness of breath, as well as patients with symptoms that are not monitored by 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiography.
The SEEQ MCT system is suitable for patients with up to 30 days of monitoring requirements, and the Irveal LINQTM ICM, an implantable cardiac monitoring system released earlier this year by Medtronic, provides patients with up to 3 years of monitoring. Reveal LINQ ICM is intended for situations where the patient's arrhythmia is less frequent and may not be detected by a short-term monitoring system.
“Combining short-term heart rate monitoring with our implantable long-term monitoring tool Reveal LINQTM, Medtronic is providing a comprehensive portfolio of diagnostic tools to help patients with different symptoms,†said Nina Goodheart, Vice President and General Manager of Diagnostics and Monitoring, Medtronic Global “The SEEQ MCT system and the Medtronic Monitoring Center provide patients with simple, easy-to-use short-term diagnostics while ensuring access to important heart rhythm data, thus ensuring that doctors can make timely and feasible diagnoses.â€
