The cause of mad cow disease is an insoluble variant protein that deposits in the brain and forms a spongy tissue. This protein is called Prion and its normal form is not harmful to health, but variant forms can cause spongiform encephalopathy. According to the “Yomiuri Shimbun†reported on the 31st, the researchers used genetic technology to develop a bovine raw without Prion protein, so there is no possibility of infecting mad cow disease.
