Recently, the research team of Wenzhou Medical University studied the etiology of high myopia in early-onset children and found that the probability of new high myopia mutation in children is positively correlated with the childbearing age of the parents.
Nowadays, high myopia has become a "national disease" that threatens our health and is the main cause of blindness in China.
Previously, the report released by National Vision Health clearly pointed out that in 2102, about 500 million people with visual impairment in China's population over 5 years old, including about 450 million patients with myopia; The prevalence of myopia in China over 5 years old will increase to about 51%, and the number of sick people will reach 700 million.
However, because there are many influencing factors and the pathogenesis of the disease is very difficult to study, in the actual prevention and treatment process, doctors often have no way to do it.
In this experiment, researchers such as Yan Jia and Jin Bing of Wenzhou Medical University screened and analyzed the genetic data of a large number of patients to find the mutated gene (high myopia pathogenic gene) BSG, and then using genetic engineering technology. The mutant gene BSG was implanted into mice and found to be pathogenic by the healthy changes in the mice.
In addition, in the research and analysis of a large number of sample data, the research team found that the higher the parents' age, the higher the probability of mutation in children's genes. In this regard, Professor Jin Bing said: "We have collected a large number of samples and came to the conclusion that both parents do not carry high myopia genes at all, if their father is over 35 years old, then their next generation. The probability of high myopia will increase, up to 50%."
Obviously, with the expansion of the late-night marriage and late-school population, the importance of this issue is also increasing.
For more precise treatment in the future, the researchers identified the target tissues of the disease-causing gene through further research, and they constructed and analyzed the gene mutation model that caused the axial length to become longer.
It was found that the disease-causing gene affects the ciliary body and the neural retina of the animal, which also indicates that we can solve the problem of hereditary high myopia by protecting and treating the retina and the ciliary body.
The results have been published in the National Academy of Sciences, and were selected as the "Top Ten Progress of China's Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in 2017" sponsored by the China Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Association and China Medical Biotechnology magazine on January 13.
Both IgM and IgG are immunoglobulin which are produced by the immune system to provide protectionagainst the 2019-nCoV. Some patients with negative results in nucleic acid test show positive in IgM test, indicating that the IgG / IgM detection is one of the effective methods for the diagnosis of 2019-nCoV.
