After inventory, a total of 53 boxes of fake Maotai wines were checked and policemen seized and sealed more than RMB 1.1 million of funds involved in the case. The police said that the case involved more than 600 million yuan.

After investigation, the suspect Xu (male, from Puning City, Guangdong Province) and Yu Mou (male, Chengdu, Sichuan Province) were married. The profit is divided into four or six, and it accounts for 40%, and Wang Mou accounts for 60%. Since July 2009, Xu Mou and Yu Mou have repeatedly sold fake Maotai liquor to others and their units. They have illegally profited from it. A total of 500 boxes of 6000 bottles of fake Maotai were sold, and a total of approximately RMB 1.5 million was made. At present, suspects Xu and Yu have been arrested by the Haikou City Procuratorate. The case is under further investigation.
